Habbox Summer Spectacular
Since:	2007

The Habbox Summer Spectacular (referred to commonly as HxSS) is a Habbox event which occurs every summer. It runs for 10 days, usually in the middle of August and takes the form of a tournament between four teams. The Habbox Summer Spectacular is one of the seasonal events that Habbox hosts, like the Easter Eggstravaganza.

The four competing teams remain the same each year, and each have a themed character. Before 2015, teams had the same animal mascots: Green (Snakes), Red (Parrots), Black (Monkeys) and Blue (Hippos). These were updated to Turtles, Foxes, Pandas and Dolphins for the 2015 event. In 2016, the event was themed around Viva Las Vegas.

Since 2017, the Summer Spectacular has had an overarching theme with each team having a character 'mascot'. In 2017, the theme was Superheroes. In 2018, the theme was Fantasy. In 2019 the theme was Video Games, in 2020 the theme was History, in 2021 the theme was Disney and in 2022 the theme was again Superheroes due to the popular demand.

Participation

Players must sign up to join a team on HabboxForum - applications usually open a few days before the event officially begins. There are also applications for team leaders, which open around a month before.

The duration of the Summer Spectacular is dominated by community events, competitions and HabboxLive DJ shows, as well as each department running a larger campaign. Usually, all members of the community are given permission to host events during this time.

Players who win events (or come second or third) win points as well as the usual credit prize. Players can also gain point by entering and winning forum competition, HabboxLive competitions and department campaigns. These points are added to their personal total and their team's overall total. The team with the overall highest amount of points wins HxSS, and at least the top three point scorers on each team wins a large credit prize.
