Maude
Maude is a character within Habbo Hotel with the backstory of being a hotel inspector and either a rival or a friend to Frank.
History
In April 2016, a user known as Xx-connor-xX created a page for Maude on Habbo Wiki. Despite the page's claims that Maude had appeared throughout several previous campaigns dating back to March 2016 - notably used to supplement controversial changes such as the introduction of stricter moderation and the price increase for Habbo Club - there has been no evidence to back up these claims, with Habbo themselves even questioning "Do any Habbo veterans remember Maude?", and therefore it is possible that Xx-connor-xX created the character and fabricated her entire backstory.
Nevertheless, Habbo first began using the character themselves in July 2020 as part of their 20th-anniversary celebrations[1]: "Bonnie, Piccolo and Frank are doing their best to prepare the hotel for a big 20th birthday party. Frank hired Maude to help organize it all, and it seems like she was a big helper." Later that same month "Maude's Office" was introduced as a game that stated "Join the queue and wait for your turn. You've snuck into Maude's office. She has hidden her password somewhere in the room. In the game, you have to find the password before you reach her desk." Passing the game would unlock a badge and an anniversary clothing item.
As a character, Maude remained dormant for several years before being included in a post by Habbo celebrating New Years 2024[2] alongside Frank, Bonnie, Piccolo and Donnie Santini. In April 2024, Maude received an entire campaign dedicated to her known as Maude's Mini World with Habbo releasing the following statement: "Habbos! Maude is taking over this month to show all of you her wonderful little hobby: building miniatures! She has worked so hard making itty bitty items for you to make your own miniature rooms or dioramas and, she’s right, everything is cuter when it’s small." She also received several furniture items named after her.
