Release 7 brought with it four different updates. In the present day Habbo, these changes wouldn't be seen as anything spectacular as things are changing all the time. However, way back when Release 7 was introduced, these changes were substantial and still remain within the hotel in one way or another. As a brief overview, Release 7 saw the doorbell being updated, the very first badge organiser, the ignore feature and finally, changes to some of Habbo's most loved posters.

Changes made in Release 7

Doorbell

The doorbell had existed in Habbo before Version 7, although in a different form. Prior to this update, any Habbo in a room could answer the doorbell, regardless of whether they had room rights or not. Moreover, there was no way of cycling through doorbell requests: if two people rang the doorbell, the first request to enter had to be answered before the second request could be dealt with.

In Version 7, the mechanics changed. Firstly, only owners and those with room rights could answer the door. Secondly, buttons were added so that users could cycle through the list of users trying to enter the room.

Badge Organiser

When Release 7 rolled into the hotel, very few users actually had badges and they were incredibly hard to get hold of. However, there were more and more campaigns being released alongside competitions which lead to more badges being added to the hotel. Very few lucky users were able to grab multiple badges, but there was no way of choosing which to display. To combat this, Habbo added a new Badges button on the infostand which would allow users to select one badge they wished to make visible.

Ignore Button

A very important feature in Habbo since the release of Version 7 is the ignore button, a feature which Habbo Staff (including through the automated moderation system) are always encouraging users to make use of. The feature, as the name suggests, would allow users to effectively ignore other users in the room, by means of hiding the other user's speech bubbles from view. This was possible on any user minus the room owner and Habbo Staff. This feature also blocks the ignored user from trading the user who has blocked them.

Poster changes

Although an official reason for this change is unknown, we can only assume that there was some kind of copyright issue regarding the posters shown below, to prevent any action being taken on this issue Habbo swiftly changed the posters in question to a more non-fictional nature, rather than featuring real-life bands and artists. In place of Britney Spears and Sum 41, we saw the introduction of The Habbo Babes and Bonnie Blonde. All the posters changed are shown below, along with what they changed to.
