Tradeblock message during the exploit

The Infinite Coins Exploit was a Credits exploit that happened during the 6th January 2017 on Habbo.com (International) and resulted in a temporary global Tradelock as well as the banning of a small number of users whilst their unwarranted Credits were removed by Sulake Staff.

On the 6th January, a command/code which was present on the Sandbox hotel for developers and had allowed users to give themselves essentially an unlimited amount of Credits, was used by a small group of Habbo users on the Habbo.com Client after they became aware the feature still worked on actual Hotels. These users then proceeded to gain several million Credits, with one user even supposedly acquiring over 20 million, before deciding to use these Credits to interfere with the Habbo economy.

These users proceeded to purchase hundreds, potentially thousands of items from the Marketplace thus essentially bringing all trading to a halt and likewise disrupting the Marketplace values of certain furniture items and Rares which had been placed in there at over-inflated prices. Due to this, the attention of Sulake staff was caught, who then proceeded to issue a global Tradelock on Habbo.com for a few hours whilst the users were banned and their funds reset to the correct amount.

The exact names and quantity of users involved are not known and the exploit was not discussed openly by Sulake.
