The Habboween Portal

Habboween (contraction of the words Habbo and Halloween) is a returning habbo-wide seasonal event that starts in- and runs throughout October. The original furniture line was called 'Halloween' and released around 2001.

Halloween is a very popular holiday and especially celebrated in English speaking countries like the United States and United Kingdom. The name Halloween comes from "All Hallows Eve", the night before All Saints Day on November the 1st. It originates back to the Celtic era where Halloween used to be their New Year. When the harvest was done and seeding for the next day was ready they could take some time for a day off, also known as the Celtic 'Samhain'

Spanish speaking countries, especially Mexico, known their own version of the Halloween celebration under the name "Dia De Los Muertos" (Day Of The Dead) which Habbo also did a campaign about back in 2014 See: Day Of The Dead. Habbo released that year a Day of the Dead Altar limited edition rare which is widely used in Mexico to remember their past loved ones. Photo's of the family are being placed on an altar, this can be a table, shelf or any certain flat object, and decorated with candles, fruit and flowers. Not every flower is used for this festive though, only Mexican Marigolds can be used for it.
