The 16th annual Habbox Summer Spectacular was announced on July 12th, with the tournament due to take place between August 12th and August 21st[1]. The theme was announced as Superheroes; this theme was previously used in the 2017 tournament, however was brought back due to popular demand.
Two weeks prior to the tournament starting, team applications were opened and the mascots for each team were announced[2]. Similarly to the 2021 tournament, the mascots followed the theme of "Hero vs Villain" - with the blue team's mascots being Thor vs Nebula, black team being Black Panther vs Loki, green team's mascots were Green Lantern vs The Joker and, finally, red team's mascots were Iron Man vs Scarlet Witch.
