The Habbox Site Coders manage Habbox's pre-existing code and work on new projects. The department has had many incarnations over the years, however, most recently returned in late May 2012 to facilitate the loss of HotelUser as the Assistant General Manager (Development). In the past forms of the department was a part of the Content Department and was managed directly by either the Content Manager, Assistant General Manager (Content) or both, depending on the relevant experience of either party.

All coding sub-teams are overseen by lawrawrrr (General Manager) with assistance from Expling, the (Assistant General Manager (Content).

History

The department has its origins going back to when the founder and original owner of Habbox, Mizki enlisted the help of our current co-owner, sierk. Sierk helped build the main site in 2004 and as technology has evolved and become more complex over the past ten or so years Habbox has had to bring in more experienced coders to keep up with changes in technology so to improve the sites features.

Coding staff sporadically come and go and in their wake will leave a whole host of improvements, changes and brand new features behind for everyone to use and enjoy. The coding department is very competitive to get into, and the current coders will have been rigorously tested to ensure sure they're up to the challenge. Applications are generally open for new site coders however generally most coders over the years come to Habbox initially through either the forum moderation department or the content design department.

Webpage Design Department

The Webpage Design Department was created late 2004 under the reign of 8Freak8. The department was similar to the current Site Coders department. Towards late 2007, the department was renamed and reformed to the current Site Coders Department.
